ChatGPT Tasks - New Launch

AI

Last night OpenAI launched Tasks

You can think of a Task as a scheduled prompt - a prompt that will automatically run in the future without your involvement.

I'm sure you'll start with a basic "Remind me to call my mother in 20 days",

but you could do that with Alexa or Siri today.

Instead - think about the prompts you are writing today and how having them run on an automatic schedule could be helpful.

Here's two examples:

Enterprise AEs spend a lot of time researching Investor updates and transcripts - but if you manage a large number of accounts it is difficult to stay on top of them all.

Or consider a product team that want to keep tabs on what their biggest competitor is doing:

ChatGPT Tasks can now run these prompts on a schedule you define - one off, recurring or a custom schedule.

Here’s a quick video of me building both these tasks:

Tasks is just in beta, so its still flaky, not integrated into GPTs, Projects or the API,

but it gives you an insight into the agentic future where AI can not only run scheduled prompts, but also decide which prompts and when....

Check it out yourself in the ChatGPT web app - just select "GPT-4o with scheduled tasks" as your model.
